Education PrograM
We are proud to work with our local schools to introduce the next generation of filmmakers and activists to the power of independent film to make a difference. In addition to our annual high school screening, featuring a handpicked inspirational film from the year’s official selections, we are proud to offer internships and volunteer opportunities for our local youth, and we feature . We also partner with the Mendocino High School Multimedia Arts Program, with our tech team including a number of high school students who keep our projection running flawlessly throughout Festival Weekend.
High School Screening
From Happy to The Starfish Throwers to FREE, our high school program has introduced our younger fans to some of our most powerful films. As one high school student described the experience, “Hearing the filmmakers talk about their passion for this movie served as a reminder of how we all share our humanity. To be able to ask questions about their inspiration and dedication to this film helped to open a brilliant dialogue.”
Internship Program
From marketing to operations to tech, our team integrates interns who are eager to learn about what goes into producing a festival. Every year, we hear from past interns who have gone into film and other related fields after their Festival experience. Interested in joining our team of talented interns?
